CHANDELIERS BY René Roubíček

René Roubíček, a visionary glass artist, played a key role in Czechoslovak architecture’s international success. Working with architect Jan Šrámek, he crafted unique chandeliers for the Grand Ballroom. Hand-made in Preciosa’s Nový Bor workshops, these glass installations, set into the reinforced concrete ceiling, were restored by Jaroslav Bejvl, preserving the artistic legacy and craftsmanship of the original design.

STAINED-GLASS WINDOWS BY Jiří Jíra

Czech artist Jiří Jíra created stunning stained-glass windows depicting glassmaking scenes, integrated into the Kafka Brasserie on the hotel’s ground floor. Their restoration was challenging due to fragility and damage, but with the expertise of Zdeněk Černohorský’s studio, all parts were fully restored, and an improved installation method was developed to ensure long-term preservation.

ENCHANTED FOREST BY Miloslav Hejný

Created in the 1960s and 1970s, the “Enchanted Forest” sculpture series once featured nine pieces of Bulgarian elm, each over three meters tall. Only three have survived and were professionally restored by David Fiala’s Art Studio. Now displayed near František Ronovský’s murals on the hotel’s ground floor, these sculptures embody the organic aesthetic, a key artistic motif in the hotel’s design.

GOLD CHANDELIERS BY Hugo Demartini

Sixteen gilded globes with hidden spotlights return to the Zlatá Praha rooftop restaurant, showcasing timeless Czech design from the late 20th century. A reflection of Hugo Demartini’s visionary style, these chandeliers were meticulously restored by the Bejvl studio, preserving their original elegance and craftsmanship.

GLASS SCULPTURES BY Stanislav Libenský

Massive glass castings, crafted using the unique technology of Professors Libenský and Brychtová, remain embedded in the hotel’s exterior walls, where daylight enhances their effect. Now displayed in the Greenhouse restaurant lounges, they allow visitors a closer look. Restored by the Bejvl studio, they are complemented by new glass sculptures from Zdeněk Lhotský, a successor to this exceptional Czech glassmaking tradition.

WOODEN WALL IN THE LOBBY BY Josef Klimeš

The monumental four-sided sculptural wall, almost four metres long and three metres high, dating from the 1970s, is returning to the hotel lobby after restoration, now in the central position of the gallery to enhance its spatial effect.

CERAMIC MOSAICS ON THE FAÇADE BY Zbyněk Sekal

Zbyněk Sekal, a prominent figure in Czechoslovak art, created 52 vertical ceramic sculptures for the hotel’s façades. These original works inspired Czechoslovak architecture for decades. Although they were damaged over time, Sekal’s sculptures were meticulously restored after nearly two years of research and testing. Dušan Grmolec, a family ceramic craftsman, played a crucial role in the restoration process.

LIGHT INSTALLATION ‘HEAVEN’ BY Jan Kukla

The ‘Heaven’ light installation at the main entrance of Fairmont Golden Prague is the largest exterior sculpture in the Czech Republic, made of 600 bars of metallurgical glass. Combining functional lighting with an artistic depiction of the sky, it creates a welcoming atmosphere. The installation also features energy-efficient technology, highlighting the hotel’s commitment to sustainability while enhancing the guest experience with soft, diffused light.

GLASS ‘TAPESTRIES’ BY Zdeněk Lhotský

Zdeněk Lhotský, an exceptional Czech glassmaker, created a series of vertical glass partitions for the hotel’s ground and first floors. His collection blends polymerized ornament and etching techniques. As part of the hotel’s concept of connecting interior and exterior, two large glass sculptures are placed on the façades facing Pařížská Street and Miloš Forman Square, adding a unique artistic touch.

GOLD ON THE WALLS OF ZLATÁ PRAHA BY Rima & McRae

The design and implementation of special trowel-finished surfaces with gold application were entrusted to a British studio, whose work was carefully combined with other original and newly original elements in the Zlatá Praha restaurant – Demartini chandeliers and glass screens from the Sallinger glassworks.

CABINETS IN THE Kafka Brasserie restaurant

The legacy of Jindřich Halabala. In the restaurant, which celebrates Czech art and traditions, guests can find cabinets whose design is inspired by the work of Jindřich Halabala, one of the most important Czech designers of the 20th century. The cabinets are a modern reinterpretation of his style, using clean lines and quality materials such as wood and brass.

GLASS PARTITIONS AND SLIDING DOORS IN THE ROOMS by LASVIT

The slumped glass is a collaboration between TaK Architects and Lasvit, with sculptured cut wood, impressions of formwork also characteristic for the façades of the hotel from the time of its construction.
